<p>Izzeddin Keykavus I ruled a short but influential reign. He took Sinop and went to the Black Sea. He strengthened the state with trade treaties and fortress repairs. His rivalry with his brother Alaeddin Keykubad created political tension. He died of the disease at a young age. The Sinop expedition is one of the critical steps in the opening of the Seljuks to two seas. His justice and generosity are praised in sources. Keykavus Tomb and inscriptions bear the traces of the period.It is one of the rising generations of the Anatolian Seljuks.</p>
